I am very passionate about adoption, there are 140,000 orphans in the world. our son Oleg was adopted from the Ukraine and it was the most life changing experience, I feel I was given the opportunity to experience just a glimpse of how my heavenly father seeks after me. We waited 2 long years for Oleg to be in our arms we sought after him just as our heavenly father seeks after us. We went to the ends of the earth for him, we paid every "ransom" just to have him in our arms, just like our heavily father did for us. I feel blessed to have experience the miracle of adoption. I believe that if we all just added one orphan to our family we could give all the orphans out there a forever home!!
Oleg was born missing his left arm from the elbow down. when we met him for the first time we were amazed at the things he could do. even now he amazes us. When we returned to the US we proceeded to get him a prosthesis. That was an amazing day, when they fitted him for his arm I think I cried more than the day I met him.
I recently gave birth to my baby girl Amaliya. she was born on July 4th so for my husband that was the cherry on top. It was funny he always said that she was going to be born on the 4th, I told him to keep dreaming as my due date was the 7th and that was never going to happen. imagine my surprise when I did go into labor that morning.
I love everything crafty even the things I am bad at including knitting. I love all music, even country. I like to pretend that I have it all together but the truth is that I'm a hot mess and pledge everyday that I will get it together. Really I need to except that this is life. I am a horrible speller. I love to mountain bike but with the addition of the 2 babies it has been hard to get on my bike. I recently started cross fit to get back in shape. I love to ski as well and we taught Oleg last year, he is fearless. I am constantly changing my house, it drives my husband nuts. He has learned to put up with it but I have to make sure that I fill the nails holes, he refuses to do that if I change it I need to fix it. I vow every year that I am going to learn Russian, and never do. I am a nanny by profession I love being a mommy, so to me I have the perfect job! I am a daughter of a carpenter and a florist so needless to say it was my destiny to be crafty. The funny thing is I think my father is better at sewing than me. My mother is a huge inspiration and I swear she never in her life has paid full price for anything. Both of my parents are quite thrifty so when I have to pay full price for something is is hard!
I hope this give you some insight to my life. I hope that I can inspire and be inspired by all of you that join me here. Thanks
